In a joyful atmosphere filled with pride and celebration, Kafil El Yatim National Charity, in partnership with the National Commissioner for Child Protection, organized an honorary ceremony on Saturday, September 27, at the Zeralda Holiday and Leisure Center to celebrate orphaned students who distinguished themselves academically.
The event was attended by the National Commissioner for Child Protection, Ms. Meriem Cherfi, the President of Kafil El Yatim National Charity, Dr. Ali Chaouati, along with members of the association’s National Office. The ceremony brought together educational recognition and social solidarity, highlighting the importance of supporting orphans in their academic journey.
As part of the event, more than 300 fully equipped school backpacks were symbolically distributed to school-enrolled orphans. This initiative was made possible through a fruitful partnership with the IFRI Industrial Group, reflecting a successful model of cooperation between the public sector, private enterprises, and civil society organizations.
In her address, Ms. Meriem Cherfi expressed her great pleasure in attending this humanitarian occasion, emphasizing that encouraging and accompanying orphaned children throughout their education is both a national and moral duty. She stressed that caring for and supporting them represents a genuine investment in the future of Algeria. She also noted that this recognition serves as both a tribute to outstanding students and a message of hope to every orphan that dedication, effort, and solidarity can open the door to a brighter future.
The ceremony marked a memorable moment for the honored children, who received recognition worthy of their hard work, along with practical support in the form of school supplies to help them begin the new academic year with confidence and motivation.
For its part, Kafil El Yatim affirmed that this event carried profound humanitarian messages: that excellence can thrive despite difficult circumstances, that hope is built through solidarity, and that caring for orphans is a true investment in the nation’s future.
The ceremony concluded with the association extending its deepest gratitude to all partners, supporting institutions, and volunteers who contributed to the success of this meaningful event, affirming that every schoolbag distributed represented hope, and every moment of recognition was a promise of a brighter future for orphaned children.
