"We Rise with the Colors of Joy": An Exceptional Summer at the National Orphan Sponsorship Camps 2025
Abu Dima
With the start of the summer vacation, joy and anticipation were evident on the faces of the orphans sponsored by the National Orphan Sponsorship Association. For them, the vacation was not just a passing phase, but a special time where they found space for fun, learning, and creating memories. Along the Algerian coast, from the beaches of Tipaza and El Kala to Mostaganem, Bejaia, and Skikda, the National Orphan Sponsorship Association organized a series of summer camps under the slogan "We Rise with the Colors of Joy," attracting hundreds of orphaned children from across the country.
Between the Sea and the Mountains: A Space for Discovery
In Chenoua, Tipaza, the first national group of children departed in the presence of the association's president, Professor Ali Chaouati, and members of the national office, marking the official launch of a comprehensive national camp. The program wasn't just about swimming and beach games; it also included training workshops such as "The Art of Effective Communication," "Healthy Nutrition," and "First Aid," in addition to excursions to Tipaza Park, giving the children an exceptional day of discovery and adventure.
In El Kala, the Constantine Provincial Office took its children to the stunning beaches, where moments of swimming and fun were combined with educational activities focused on building the child's character and preparing them for a successful start to the school year.
In Bejaia, the Ghardaia Provincial Office took its children to the world of caves and waterfalls. The program was a vibrant mix of swimming, exploration, and cultural and artistic activities, an experience that unleashed the children's imaginations and showcased their talents.
Camps with a Spirit of Solidarity
The camps weren't just about recreation; they were also spaces for getting to know one another and fostering camaraderie. In Gouraya, Tipaza, the association president observed the atmosphere of the camp that brought together children from the provinces of Timimoun, Ain Defla, and Zeralda. The spirit of solidarity among the children was evident, and the values of belonging to one family were highlighted, despite their different provinces and origins.
In Mostaganem, the Sidi Bel Abbes office organized a special camp for high-achieving primary school students. It combined educational and creative activities, such as making sand sculptures and handmade bracelets, and engaging theatrical performances with meaningful themes, including "Phone Addiction." The closing ceremony was distinguished by the distribution of symbolic prizes, adding a special touch to the success.
Meanwhile, the Relizane office was determined to make the Bahara beach an unforgettable destination, with a well-balanced program that included sports, excursions, theater, and intellectual competitions.
Talents Unveiled and Talents Shine
From Zemmouri, Boumerdès, the Blida office implemented its own program, with camping sessions spanning two full months, in which all orphans from the municipal branches participated. Several talents emerged during the camp that require nurturing and guidance, prompting the organizers to emphasize the importance of continuing to support these young minds on their path to excellence.
In Skikda, the Bordj Bou Arreridj and Souk Ahras offices (Ain Seniour branch) continued their series of camps with enriching programs that focused on combining fun and learning, equipping children with new skills and knowledge.
The El M'Ghair office ensured that children from the southern provinces had an exceptional experience in coordination with the Takafol Charitable Association in Skikda, where the sea became the setting for fun and educational tourism.
Closing Moments... Unforgettable Images
The highlight was the closing ceremony of the Chenoua National Camp, attended by the association's president, members of the national office, and representatives from the National Security, Civil Protection, and civil society. The children presented creative performances, including acting, comedy, and songs, showcasing the skills they had acquired during the camp. The ceremony was a moment of recognition for the tremendous efforts of the supervising staff and volunteers.
In El Bayadh, the closing ceremony was deeply moving, as the children and volunteers were honored in a warm, family-like atmosphere that reflected the association's philosophy of making every orphaned child feel a sense of belonging to a large family.
"More Than Just a Holiday"
The Kafal camps were more than just a summer break; they were a school for life.
A school where children learned the values of cooperation and belonging, practiced sports and art, acquired practical skills, and opened their hearts to new friends. Most importantly, they left with beautiful memories that will remain etched in their hearts.
Above all, these camps succeeded in serving as a platform for discovering talents and developing character, embodying the association's mission of caring for orphans through a holistic vision that combines recreation, education, and personal growth.
An Open Letter
The photos taken at the camps show radiant smiles, and the stories shared reflect priceless joy. Perhaps the most eloquent statement is that these initiatives are not merely seasonal activities, but rather an investment in the future, planting hope in the hearts of children so they may grow up to be good and active citizens in their communities.
The National Orphan Sponsorship Program creates colors of joy from the summer and writes new chapters of human solidarity.
